How much should I eat at each meal?

This really depends on the individual, as one person may require more or less energy intake than the next person. Activity levels also affect energy requirements, with those who are highly active in their jobs (such as builders), requiring more than those who are sedentary at work (such as office workers).

Ensure to practice mindful eating. Sit down for each meal at a table, away from distractions such as the TV or your phone. Before beginning your meal, take 3 deep breaths to relax. This will help activate your ‘rest and digest’ function, allowing your body to digest food more efficiently. During your meal, ensure to eat slowly, chew each bite well and focus on the flavours and textures you are experiencing. Eat enough food to satisfy your hunger, but not enough that you are over-full. If you are hungry after your meal, try munching on a raw carrot or apple to allow your body to register fullness, without overeating.
