What can I do to relieve constipation?

  • Ensure you are walking and/or stretching daily to get the bowels moving.
  • Drink 2-3 litres of water daily.
  • Increase intake of fibre, specifically insoluble fibre found in zucchini, leafy greens, cabbage, carrots, broccoli brown rice and quinoa. Tip: avoid peeling fruits and vegetables as the peel is most rich in fibre.
  • Try to reduce stress through meditation, deep breathing, yoga or a magnesium salt bath. Stress can cause constipation, so it is important to reduce stress levels to allow the bowel to function properly.
